AC Milan want to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Andrea Belotti or Alvaro Morata before the end of the transfer window, CEO Marco Fassone has revealed.

The German international has become one of the best central midfielders in the world since joining Madrid from Bayern Munich in 2014, and Mourinho has made no secret of his admiration for the 27-year-old.

The Argentinian has been in top form in the last two seasons and hence Chelsea are bound to have their bid rejected.

The Spanish giants want £80million for the striker, a fee Antonio Conte has asked the Blues to pay. "Even Real Madrid and Manchester United confirmed that there were negotiations".

AC Milan are closing in on an agreement with Real Madrid for the signature of Chelsea target Alvaro Morata this summer.

"Fortunately we are in China now so we can hold discussions with the owners to understand what our resources are, because they are not unlimited".

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Milan are "on the verge" of a deal for Alvaro Morata, offering €70m to Real Madrid and €10m per year wages.

Sources close to the English club have told ESPN FC that they expect Madrid to make a new offer for De Gea in the coming weeks, although Blancos coach Zinedine Zidane reportedly has faith in his current No. 1 Keylor Navas.

But Mourinho is ready to counteract their offer by requesting that Kroos is involved if any deal is to be completed according to the Mirror.

Ben Gladwell reports on Serie A, the Italian national team and the Bundesliga for ESPN FC, UEFA and the Press Association.

That would appear to leave the field open for Chelsea to snare Morata, with Swansea's Fernando Llorente being considered as a possible option in reserve.
