The 39-year-old star - who raises kids Brielle, 20, Ariana, 15, KJ, five, Kash, four, and three-year-old twins Kaia and Kane with husband Kroy Biermann - had to end her stint on "Dancing With the Stars" in September 2015 and though she is "almost fully recovered" now, she admits she still occasionally encounters problems with her speech as a result of the attack, which sees part of the blood supply to the brain cut off.

The reality star shared that despite lingering symptoms of the stroke, such as the occasional slip of her tongue or forgetting a word, she is "almost fully recovered" and is feeling "great". "I'm so thankful for my medical team".

The "Don't Be Tardy" star previously admitted her kids thought she was doing "Jim Carrey impressions" when she had her stroke as she was unable to feel her face or tongue.

'I had my stroke at 37!

She added, "It can happen to anyone at any age! When it doubt please always check it out!"

She suffered a mini stroke that prevented her from flying and was forced to withdraw from the dancing competition show.

"I'm always joking around with my kids", she said. Zolciak-Biermann didn't know it at the time, but she was having a stroke.

"I kept telling myself, 'You're fine, you're fine".

She goes on to say that anything that has to do with your heart and brain is "pretty scary".

That 2015 hospitalization for the stroke led to the discovery of a genetic condition that demanded heart surgery as well. "[But] you really don't realize how precious life is and how something can just - it literally happened in a second and my whole life changed".
