The Fugees are undoubtedly one of the most famous hip-hop groups of the "90s".

The group, composed of Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, and Pras Michel hasn't been an official group for over a decade now, and the anticipation of the new track raised speculation of a possible reunion for the group. Hot 97 personality Funkmaster Flex had fans excited when he premiered a "new track" from the disbanded rap trio - or so he thought.

"While some fans were delighted at the prospect of new material being released by the group, the Fugees" Ms. Lauryn Hill took to Twitter to let fans down by telling them this "new" track, was actually an old track. "Hello Folks", she begins.

On Saturday, L-Boogie shared her reaction on Twitter saying that the song is an old record that they played with back in the day.

The hugely influential hip-hop group attained great success in the 1990s with their only two studio albums, 1994's "Blunted On Reality" and the classic 1996 record "The Score".

"Not sure who leaked it, but I have my suspicions", she writes before using the "Inspector" and thinking emoji.
