Arsene Wenger is ready to make a swoop to bring Virgil van Dijk and Moussa Dembele to Arsenal this summer, according to the Daily Express.

Over the weekend, Liverpool fans were once again encouraged a move for the Dutch global could happen.

Van Dijk would undoubtedly address that and help fix the issue, and if he is adamant about a move to Liverpool this summer, then it's hard not to see it eventually happen.

But wasn't the only reason Liverpool fans still believe the deal could happen.

All the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours from across the British and European press on Monday, July 17.

A number of Premier League sides are thought to be tracking Van Dijk, with Arsenal and Chelsea reportedly also interested in the 26-year-old, who is valued at around £60million. But they were forced to apologise to Southampton and dropped their interest in the Dutchman after the south-coast club complained to the Premier League for an "alleged illegal approach", per the Guardian's David Hytner.

It remains to be seen whether Van Dijk's apparent desire to move to Anfield will secure him a move to Merseyside this summer.

Arsenal have already spent £52m on striker Alexandre Lacazette, but Wenger wants further reinforcement with another Frenchman, Olivier Giroud, lined up to leave for either Everton or Borussia Dortmund.
