Following the live-action films panel at D23, the first wave of Star Wars: The Last Jedi character posters have made their way online.

Sadly, the late and great Carrie Fisher will not be returning for The Last Jedi, but her spirit will always live on.

Howevr, Disney and Lucasfilm apparently had another surprise in store for fans today besides that sizzle reel: a batch of brand new characters posters for The Last Jedi, spotlighting Rey, Finn, General Leia, and last but not least, Luke Skywalker. As far as when we'll see more from of The Last Jedi, I'm guessing the 2nd official trailer will come before the end of the summer.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens December 15th in the United States and the rest of the world (with the exception of China, which drops January 5th 2018).

While cast members Daisy Ridley, Kelly Marie Tran, Gwendoline Christie, Laura Dern, Benicio del Toro, and Mark Hamill spoke with Good Morning America, some stressed that the upcoming film would explore themes that sit in the middle of the spectrum of good and evil.

There's not much else to say except that they're pretty striking, with a similar red motif we've seen through Star Wars 8's promotional material.
