Microsoft Allows Personal Photos As Profile Pictures With Latest Xbox One Update

A new system update for the Xbox One has begun rolling out, and with it comes a slew of slick changes that fans have been asking for quite some time.

I have previously written about how to create a Custom Gamerpic both on the console and using the Xbox App (Beta) but now the main Xbox App has been updated and supports the same process that was tested on the beta version. Images can be uploaded via console, a Windows 10 PC, or smartphone. "Choose how you want to express yourself", Microsoft says, though the company also warns to "keep it clean". No dick pics, guys! If you are in the middle of playing a game but not already broadcasting, pull up the broadcasting tab in the Guide and select "co-stream" to start. Users and up to three of their friends can broadcast streams together. This can be done from one's Xbox One by selecting "Invite to co-stream" from their profile. "To invite another user to a co-stream, simply select "Invite to co-stream" from their profile, or choose to invite your entire party to a co-stream". Accepting an invite can be done by simply holding the Xbox button when the invite notification pops up. It's also easier to discover live broadcasts from Club members since the Club home page now has a "Mixer" tab that shows which users are broadcasting on Mixer. Players can now link a specific controller to their Xbox Live profile, letting them sign in automatically. To enable this feature, you must be using whichever controller you want to link and be signed-in to the profile you want to link it with.

Killer Instinct now gets user-generated tournaments making it easier for friends to compete. Overall, these additions will make gaming on Xbox One a more enjoyable experience.

Also of note are updates for the Android and iOS Xbox apps that add Looking For Group Sharing, Game Pass Browsing, and updated Language/Location Setting.
