Possible tornado reported on the Eastern Shore

The roof ripped off of a townhome community in the Ellendale area of Kent Island.

Much of the reported damage is focused in the "Bay City" area of Stevensville, just across the Bay Bridge.

- A violent system pounded Maryland's Eastern Shore overnight downing trees, causing power outages and leaving some residents sheltering in place.

So far, officials are only reporting a few minor injuries.

Some residents in Kent Island, Maryland report that homes have been damaged.

11 News Reporter Megan Pringle is now at the media staging area in Stevensville.

Several News4 viewers sent in photos showing severe damage to homes and vehicles in the Queen Anne's County.

The National Weather Service is expected to survey the damage on Monday to determine if it was caused by a tornado or straight-line winds.

More than 8,000 Delmarva Power customers in Queen Anne's County are now without power.
