Suspect in murder of Colorado Springs auto shop owner arrested in Minnesota

A suspect in the murder of a Colorado Springs auto shop owner has been arrested in Minnesota, according to police.

Derrick Davis, 59, was found at a Super 8 Motel in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Davis was identified from surveillance footage as a suspect in the July 13 murder of George Maldonado at his shop, Full Throttle Auto Service located at 305 North Chelton Road.

Bloomington Police were called and officers determined that Davis had checked into the Super 8 earlier that night. All three agreed to come out of the room and did so without incident. Two other people who were also in the room were questioned and released.
