SWAT officers storm apartment after standoff, find 2 dead

Two bodies were found inside a Seal Beach apartment unit where a man was holed up for almost eight hours and where a woman's disconnected 911 call was possibly made.

At 11:00 p.m., the situation was still active and "being treated as a barricade situation" with residents in the immediate area and on some surrounding streets being asked to stay inside their homes, Henderson said.

The Seal Beach Police Department didn't respond to a request for comment before time of publication. The call was disconnected and soon after, police received calls reporting several gunshots.

Seal Beach police were outside an apartment Sunday night, where a shooting suspect was believed inside and where shots were reportedly fired earlier. After numerous attempts were made to contact the occupants, the SWAT team entered the apartment and discovered the bodies of two people. Their genders and ages were not immediately released.

No further shots were reported after the initial shots, he said.
