We don't target blacks, BLF tells MP Khoza

"This is what I go through everyday. I have reported to the police but nothing has happened!"

While the ANC-led government remains silent on Dr Khoza's protection, despite her receiving many death threats, millions of taxpayers' money has been spent on protection for Jacob Zuma's intended successor, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma.

The DA will write to Police Minister, Fikile Mbalula, to request that he provide VIP Protection to Public Service and Administration Portfolio Committee Chairperson, Dr Makhosi Khoza, given that National Assembly Speaker, Baleka Mbete, has ignored calls for assistance and intervention after Dr Khoza received death threats.

One text, sent on Wednesday, states: "I will find you and kill you".

She has since been subjected to a number of threats including a march to her house by the ANC Youth League. "Do what is best for yourself and family".

She was further warned: "You have 20 days let (sic)".

Mngxitama denied this, telling the news website: "BLF do not threaten other black people".

"Our movement defends all blacks‚ even those we disagree with".

In addition to the threats against her and her daughter, she cited the political killings that have taken place in her home province, KwaZulu-Natal.

"BLF believes that there must be a white person or persons behind the attempt to smear our organisation".

Twitter user Nic Haralambous‚ whose profile identifies himself as a writer and columnist‚ tweeted on Saturday that his True Caller app showed the number from which the threatening messages were sent identified as "BLF".

The phone number has been linked to BLF.

"You can imagine the difficulty of verifying such in a mass movement". In any event‚ BLF and its members never make such threats to a black person. "BLF holds the principle of "peace among blacks"‚" he said.
