Winnipeg Jets sign 2015 draft pick Mason Appleton

Appleton, who was chosen in the sixth round (168th overall) of the 2015 Draft by the Winnipeg Jets, agreed to terms on a three year, two-way, entry-level deal on Thursday that carries an average annual value of $758,333 in the National Hockey League.

Michigan State hockey coach Danton Cole will be without the services of one his most talented veterans for his first season running the program as Mason Appleton has signed a deal with the Winnipeg Jets.

Prior to attending MSU, Appleton was drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in the 6th round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

In 2016-17, the Green Bay, Wisconsin native suited up in all 35 games.

In 64 games for the Jets last season, the 24-year-old scored nine goals and added eight assists. Appleton earned the team's MVP and Outstanding Offensive Player awards for his contributions on the ice.
