APC clears 12 aspirants for Anambra guber primary

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has cleared six aspirants and disqualified one, as part of preparations for its primary poll ahead of the November 18 governorship election in Anambra State.

Ajayi, who is also Ondo State deputy governor, spoke while presenting his committee's report in Abuja.

The National Organising Secretary, Senator Osita Izunaso, who congratulated the aspirants for being competent to stand for the primary, added that the next phase would be that of appeal panel, should there be any need for such.

Others are Obidigbo Chike, Okonwko D, Onunkwo Johnbosco, Uba Andy, Uchegbu Adoabi, and Uzoh Obinna.

Meanwhile, the United Progressive Party (UPP) has cleared former Corps Marshal of the Federal Roads Safety Commission (FRSC), Ostia Chidoka, and a two- time member of the House of Representatives, Chuck Offodile, to contest its primary also scheduled for next Saturday.

"We have all signed an undertaking to support whoever wins at the primary", he said.

He said Governor Willie Obiano "must park his load and go because APC will win Anambra".

Addressing newsmen at the party's national secretariat on Friday in Abuja, on the outcome of the screening exercise carried out ‎yesterday, chairman of the screening committee and ex-minister of Police Affairs, Adamu Maina Waziri said the committee was fair and just.
