Apple is planning to release its first Apple Watch with 4G connectivity later this year, people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg. With the addition of new bands, GPS, more capable hardware, and a vastly more intuitive user interface, the Apple Watch today is more popular than ever.

According to Bloomberg's sources, the LTE chips will be manufactured by Intel as opposed to Qualcomm, the other major chipmaker which is notably mired in a contentious, globe-spanning legal dispute with Apple.

As for its arrival date, it is believed that Apple will release it just in time for the Holiday Season. This would obviously be a welcome addition as it would allow the Apple Watch to stand on its own two feet without having to constantly rely on having a paired iPhone nearby. John Gruber also suggested that the device might come with a new form factor but we will have to wait and see that the new form factor will look like. Additionally, reputed analyst Ming Chi-Kuo issued a research report a year ago claiming that Apple Watch Series 3 would introduce a new form factor.
