Arsenal kick off their Premier League campaign tonight against Leicester City, who they host at the Emirates.

Arsenal forward, Alexis Sanchez will miss their first two Premier League games of the season after picking up an abdominal strain in training, manager Arsene Wenger said yesterday. However, the midfielder is unlikely to be rushed back to action for the game against Leicester as Wenger has enough options in midfield.

"Sanchez will not be available", said the Arsenal manager.

Now Sanchez is a hard choice - to sign the main contract of his life or go to another club who set themselves more ambitious goals. I don't know - two weeks, one more week.

Arsenal have offered Alexis Sanchez a new contract worth £300,000 a week, according to reports in the British media.

Having played in the Confederations Cup up until the final on July 2, Sanchez was given an extended summer break which included missing Sunday's Community Shield penalty win over Chelsea.

"I don't look at Arsenal and feel they're Premier League contenders", Redknapp told Sky Sports News on Tuesday.

Aside from Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey, Per Mertesacker and Shkodran Mustafi are all doubts while Gabriel Paulista and Santi Cazorla are longer-term absentees.

"Always when I have faced opposition or unhappiness, I try to focus on what I think is important in the game, work harder and question myself, what can I improve?"

"For us, Alexis Sanchez is a loss of course but we had all the other players prepared in pre-season already and it can happen in preparation any way. I believe he will be a very great player".

In comments to SFR Sport this week, Wenger admitted he was feeling "not super optimistic" about the Chilean superstar, scorer of 30 goals last season, signing a new deal.
