This time around horror filmmaker Eli Roth is directing, and the first trailer certainly has more than its fair share of trigger-happy action as Willis' character Paul Kersey sets about delivering his own kind of justice. Death Wish stars Bruce Willis, Vincent D'Onofrio, Elisabeth Shue, Camila Morrone, Dean Norris, Kimberly Elise.

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures presents director Eli Roth's reimagining of the classic 1974 revenge thriller Death Wish.

And it already looks like an action-packed return for the ageing action star. As the anonymous slayings of criminals grabs the media's attention, the city wonders if this deadlyvigilante is a guardian angel or a grim reaper. It remains to be seen if Death Wish will be loved by viewers the same way Taken did, thereby propelling Bruce Willis on a fresh run of success as an action hero.

When we first heard there was going to be a Death Wish reboot - yeah, we were pretty dang excited.

He said "Our aim was to bring back that unbelievable, typical Bruce Willis we all know and love, a bad-ass improvement of a revered classic". Movies. "I wanted to bring Bruce back to that Fifth Element, Unbreakable, Die Hard glory and have him craft another iconic performance, and I really think he did it". In recent press interviews, Roth has revealed that he wants to be the driving force behind Willis' iconic comeback into the world of acting. I mean I really think this can be his Taken.

By bringing the complex psychology of Brian Garfield's book up-to-the-moment and injecting new thrills and a stark, unflinchinglook at the American psyche in 2017, Eli Roth and Death Wish brings audiences to the height of unforgettable suspense. "The cool thing is watching him go insane and seeing someone gently move the moral goal post".

Let's just hope the remake lives up to its name. And with his profession fading out, Bruce Willis seems to be following in the footprints of Liam Neeson, who was previously appreciated as an actor before his role in the film Taken but became more of a valuable star after topping the shock box office hit that propelled a whole franchise.

Eli Roth directed the movie, based on a script he co-wrote with Joe Carnahan.
