The newly updated app is now available for download from the Google Play Store.

Update 11:02 ET: In our original coverage of the latest Google Camera update we mentioned that the selfie-flash feature is new to Google Camera v4.4. Obviously, the USA is one of them. As noted by Google, the latest version is created to work on recent Nexus and Pixel devices running Android 7.1.1 and above, The Verge reported. As for how the process works, it's as simple as the name of the feature implies.

To use the feature, users can tap on the flash icon while the front-facing camera is in use and select "automatic" or "on". First off, you can still use the initial method of swiping to move between the picture and video capture functions, but Google has also now added in a button next to the shutter button for video capture, so swiping won't be necessary if it will be easier for you to simply tap a button to enable video recording.

The "Google Camera" application named has been updated to feature a selfie flash which is usually missing from the front cameras of most smartphones, the media reported on Saturday. The latest version carries with it some lightweight, but somewhat useful, new additions, including the ability to double tap the display to zoom in, and a new toggle for switching between camera functions.
