Grand Prairie PD Investigating Fatal Crash on I-30

Three people including two children were killed Friday evening in a vehicle crash in Grand Prairie.

Demitri Gomez was driving a Honda Civic on westbound I-30 on Friday, August 11, when he lost control of the auto near the Belt Line exit ramp, according to reports.

The westbound auto rotated sideways and entered the median between the ramp and the freeway before crashing into the concrete base of a light pole. Alexxia Gomez, 4, and Armani Gomez, 3, died after they were taken to Children's Medical Center Dallas.

Monica Lopez, 29, of Irving died at the scene.

Demitri Gomez was taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center, where he is listed in serious but stable condition, according to reports. They were wearing regular seat belts but were not in child seats. Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
