Hinsdale Little League team falls short of World Series bid

Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores Little League booked its ticket to Williamsport with a 6-3 victory over IL on Saturday to win the Great Lakes Regional.

Grosse Pointe Woods-Shore rebounded from a loss in the regional opener against Ohio.

Will Pflaum pitched four innings in relief and struck out four for Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores.

The team will leave by bus for Williamsport on Monday, said Hill, who is in his sixth year of coaching the Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores team.

The Little League World Series officially runs from August 17-27 in Williamsport, Pa. Jordan Aseneau's two-run run homer was the big blast in the inning.

The only time a team from MI has won the Little League World Series was the team from Hamtramck in 1959.

IL is the only unbeaten team in the tournament after beating Kentucky and Ohio.

Hinsdale's Little League team lost to MI on Saturday night, falling just short of advancing to the Little League World Series.
