Humphrey on Wednesday requested that the delegation support the Oversight Commission on Presidential Capacity Act, which would set up a commission to determine whether the president is mentally fit.

Rubio's defense of the President's comments is at odds with the opinions of some of his colleagues in the Senate - including Republicans - who criticized Trump for the harsh rhetoric.

Clapper made derisive reference to Trump's January tweet comparing the intelligence community to "Nazi Germany", suggesting the president should trust the intelligence team that he has installed since being inaugurated.

Humphrey was referring to Trump's statements to North Korea that the United States would rain down "fire and fury", saying that due to the president's words the threat of nuclear war was "steeply on the rise".

Humphrey, who has been an outspoken critic of Trump, called for Trump to be "relieved of the powers of the presidency" as soon as possible. He is unsafe. As a citizen, a former U.S. Senator and twelve-year member of the Armed Services Committee, I urge you to act once.

Trump said he would consider negotiations with North Korea and declined to discuss the possibility of a preemptive strike against Pyongyang. "The Congressmembers indicate their strong support for Tillerson's recent statements calling for direct talks with North Korea and offering assurances that our country is not their enemy and does not seek war or regime change", the letter said. "Hopefully Kim Jong Un will find another path!" he tweeted. "I was really taken aback by the level of the siege mentality and the paranoia that exists there", Clapper said of his 2014 visit to North Korea. "All parties must assure North Koreans we will forego any military action against them if North Korea remains peaceful".

He went on to say that whatever the United States has been doing with respect to North Korea, clearly isn't working and it's time to think about a new and different strategy.

Donald Trump is impaired by a seriously sick psyche. His sick mind and reckless conduct could consume the lives of millions. He trashed Trump repeatedly throughout the campaign, to replace Trump as the nominee months before Election Day.
