A pair of crew chiefs have been suspended, stemming from penalties incurred at this past weekend's XFINITY Series race, the Zippo 200 at The Glen at Watkins Glen International.

Elenz has also been fined $10,000 and suspended from the next two XFINITY Series races at Mid-Ohio and Bristol Motor Speedway as the No. 9 was found to have a rear ride height "outside NASCAR tolerances" post-race, according to the penalty report issued Wednesday (Aug 9). Crew chief (Steven Lane) and auto chief (Rick Markle) have been suspended for the next three NASCAR XFINITY Series Championship Points Events.

Byron, who finished in 10th place at WGI, has been announced as driver of the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet from 2018 as Kasey Kahne's replacement.

"After communicating with NASCAR on the penalty incurred by the No. 9 team following last weekend's race at Watkins Glen, we recognize and accept it", said Kelley Earnhardt Miller, general manager of JR Motorsports.

The XFINITY Series races this weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET, NBCSN, MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).
