There should not be any shoehorning of players into unfamiliar roles this season after Guardiola signed three top-level full-backs - Kyle Walker, Benjamin Mendy and Danilo - at a combined cost of around £124 million. "It's normal that the players and supporters are going to be celebrating for a period of time, but we have had to come down to reality", Brighton boss Hughton said.

"The mentality of the manager is playing good and winning - not just winning", Toure told club website.

Here, we take a closer look at the Amex Stadium clash.

"Like a lot of top teams here in England and around the world, always they are looking for the best possible".

"If we have to score more then we will score more because that's part of the respect of the Premier League".

They return to the fray this weekend having spent around £200 million ($261 million, 221.3 million euros) on players and Guardiola believes an exciting new team is taking shape. We needed to do that because there were four or five players at the end of their contract and we try to make a younger, deeper squad.

Ederson Moraes insists he's unperturbed by his status as the most expensive goalkeeper in history following his move to Manchester City earlier this summer.

"That is why the club was clever to do that because we anticipated what we needed and we tried to do our best, not just for next season but the future".

"Some of the transfer fees are insane but it shows how good these players are".

City's Arab billionaire owner Sheikh Mansour has invested more than £200m in new players for the coming season, adding to already impressive attacking options and upgrading identified "weak spots" at full-back and goalkeeper.

"I think when the other players got their tactics off the manager and it was a little bit hard for them". He also finished the season strongly after that double assist against Watford, which ultimately made him the Premier League's Assist King.

Manchester City now have some of the top young talent in Europe at the disposal of Pep Guardiola, and two of the best youth players in the team have been recognized for their potential to be great players.

"We didn't have full-backs and you have to buy full-backs", the Spaniard added.

Man City failed to impress in the Champions League as well, as they exited the competition in the round of 16 to Monaco.

"I never complained for one bad game or bad defeat, making excuses, never, even in Germany I never said that, never in my life I make an excuse about what happened".

I think Gylfi Sigurdsson will go so Swansea have got a few weeks to replace their most important player, while Stoke could also disappoint, so there's plenty of teams in the mix for me, but I think Huddersfield could cause a few surprises and stay up.

Guardiola could start with Jesus and Sergio Aguero up front, given he has used a 3-5-2 set-up for much of pre-season, which suggests Walker and Danilo are to be deployed as wing-backs.
