A couple of weeks back, Sony announced some bad news for PlayStation Plus users in the EU. This price hike follows a similar one in the U.S. a year ago, and as you can probably imagine, PlayStation Plus users aren't exactly happy with the added expense.

A very interesting opportunity, considering that the annual subscription to PlayStation Plus will increase from August 31 (from £39.99 to £49.99).

After all, who would be?

If you buy PlayStation Plus right now, you'll be able to get 15 months of membership for the usual price of a 12-month subscription. It's pretty easy to understand the frustration here. A great opportunity to extend your subscription, isn't it? The current annual fee of a 12-month subscription to PlayStation Plus is £39.99.

PlayStation Plus PRICE DROP: Sony offer incredible deal to keep fans free PS4 games coming

This offer means players can pay £39.99 for a 15 month membership, which will cost £69.98 from 31st August - a saving of £29.99. While you're not technically saving any money by taking advantage of this deal, you are personally delaying the price hike for a further three months. The quarterly price will go up from from £14.99 to £19.99.

Sony told Eurogamer, at the time: "We are changing the pricing to reflect various market conditions while enabling us to continue providing exceptional value to our members".
