Rep. Engel Compares Trump To Kim Jong Un

North Korea has responded in kind, assuring the United States of "total defeat" in the event of a war and claiming it is preparing for an attack on the American military base in Guam in mid-August. When we ran out of urban targets, we destroyed every hydroelectric and irrigation dam, flooding farmland and ruining crops.

Bookmaker Paddy Power has slashed the odds on the possibility of the world ending this year from 500/1 to 100/1, implying the likelihood is five times higher now that President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un are exchanging heated threats. The ignorance of every single public figure regarding these facts is more unsafe than anything President Tweety may say.

Rep. Keith Ellison, the vice chair of the Democratic National Committee, told activists at the progressive Netroots Nation conference that President Trump was acting less responsibly than North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and that antiwar activism needs to ramp up as the president's rhetoric has.

Engel suggested using "behind-the-scenes, quiet" diplomacy in order to solve the crisis with North Korea.

The remarks drew outrage, and in an interview after the panel with the Washington Post, Ellison went into damage control.

"That was one of those I wish I'd not said", Ellison told the Post. "It's tailor-made for somebody to misuse".

Trump said last night that his threat to unleash "fire and fury" on North Korea may not have been tough enough.

He answered, "I think both". Democrats appear to be playing a unsafe game of using the threat of nuclear war as a way to tear down Trump.

"With radical beliefs like these, Democrats need to decide whether Keith Ellison deserves to speak for their party going forward", Ahrens said.
