Judging by its moniker and hardware, this seems to be a different device than the rumored Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact and should fit in a lower market tier. Reports suggest that the Xperia XZ1 would possibly be successor to the Xperia XZ Premium.

While Sony is expected to unveil Sony Xperia XZ1, Xperia XZ1 Compact and Xperia X1 smartphones at Sony pre-IFA 2017 launch event on August 31, an unannounced Sony Xperia XG Compact smartphone has been spotted GeekBench benchmarking website.

In the GeekBench listing, the Sony Xperia ZG Compact got 1349 points in single-core test and in multi-core test it received 3049 points. The smartphone runs on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat, and packs 2GB of RAM.

The site says that the choice of processor gives it away since the Snapdragon 810 processor has not been used in a while especially this year and that Sony likely does not plan to start again now.

GSM Arena believes that this purported Sony Xperia ZG Compact is just the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, which was released back in 2015. This is quite unusual as Snapdragon 810 is an old chipset which has been not used in 2017 smartphones.

There isn't any other information known about the Xperia XG Compact, since this is the first sighting of the smartphone. It's advised that the Geekbench listing be taken with a grain of salt.
