Francis, a point guard from Pickerington Central High School in OH, was one of the nation's most sought-after players in the 2019 class. At least for now.

Jeremiah Francis, a point guard from Pickerington Central whose father played for the Buckeyes, on Friday announced a verbal commitment to North Carolina.

Per ESPN's official scouting report, Francis' best assets are his "strength and feel for the position" with the ability to finish at the rim and play aggressively against bigger players.

Francis is UNC's first commitment from the class of 2019. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound recruit is also ranked No. 7 in the country as a point guard.

Francis tweeted out a note with "TARHEELNATION" in all caps.
