Videograph Independence Day celebrations in madrassas: UP govt

"It is a routine order to celebrate the I-Day and when the national flag is unfurled, the national anthem will also be sung", he said.

The Yogi Adityanath government has issued an order that Independence Day celebrations at all madrasas across Uttar Pradesh will be video-graphed.

UP Madarsa Shiksha Parishad has also issued a circular in this regard and asked all madarsas affiliated to it to comply with its orders. A cultural program on national unity and sports events will follow then and the program will end with sweet distribution. The entire function has to be videographed.

Similar notices were circulated by CBSE to all its school for organization of cultural activities on Independence Day in all its affiliated schools.

According to the Newspaper, (HT PHOTO) There are about 16,000 madrasas in the state, of which 560 are fully-aided, and many have not taken it well."A madrasa student is equally patriotic as any other student".

Along with the circular, the UP Madarsa Education Board has also sent text of National Anthem in both Hindi and Urdu.

The madarsas have also been asked to pay tribute to freedom fighters and organise cultural programmes.

Official sources in Minority Welfare department said that directives for hoisting National Flag and reciting National Anthem have been issued to madrasas earlier as well. While photography has been done in the past, videography will be done for the first time this year. The circular stated that along with photographs, videos of the programmes must be shot as well.
