It is powered by Snapdragon 425 processor. There are three variants of the device - one in 3GB and one 4GB with either 32GB or 64GB of storage. The "Low Version" comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of native storage, while there are two "High Version" models, those two devices pack in 2GB and 3GB of RAM, respectively, the 2GB RAM variant comes with 32GB of storage, while the 3GB RAM model includes 64GB of native storage. This device also supports an external microSD card up to 256GB to expand the memory. The strengths of the Xiaomi Redmi 5A really lie in the pricing and the feature list. The main camera of the smartphone pulls FHD video and 13mp photos, and the Android OS here updated to version 7.1.1 and supplemented with new shell MIUI 9.

The handset features 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage. The 3GB RAM+32GB and the 4GB RAM+64GB variants of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A sport almost the same set of innards except for a slightly more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor along with Adreno 505 GPU.

This isn't exactly an exciting phone, but it is affordable. While there are no outstanding features that will stand out in the phone apart from the camera, consumers will be interested in a reliable phone that will not break the bank.

The handset has been revealed in four colour variants- Gold, Rose, Silver and Rose Gold.
