Sevilla exit in the future — N'Zonzi

He felt he was singled out for blame as Sevilla trailed by three goals to nil and has since been omitted from the squad for La Liga victories over Villarreal and Deportivo La Coruna and the Copa del Rey round of 32 second-leg defeat of second-tier Cartagena.

"We respect the decision of our coaches, he is training with their mates but currently he isn't playing". But what bothers me is the way it's going.

N'Zonzi is reported to have fallen out with Eduardo Berizzo and pointed to the exit of Monchi, and the way the departure of Vitolo was handled, as underlying causes for his unhappiness, but it was stressed that he was in London to visit his son, not arrange his next club.

"I'm indeed in London, but it's got nothing to do with a transfer or football", he told France Football.

Matters have rather come to a head of late, with N'Zonzi made to train alone after reportedly leaving the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium early following his half-time substitution during the 3-3 Champions League draw with Liverpool on 21 November.

'Publicly, he said in future he would only select players who fit his vision for football.

'The fact I was always professional despite the circumstances, that I always did my job, I found it unfair.

And with Everton recently being linked to him, there's a good reason why the Toffees should pay attention to these quotes. In the current 3-4-3 structure that is implemented, one of the central midfield spots will always be Ramsey's.

Castro suggested that N'Zonzi's continued omission from first-team duty was due to a "technical issue with the coaches" that could be changed and insisted that Sevilla had not received any offers for his services thus far. There is only room for one other player. There is always a business side, in football. Could it be N'Zonzi? "The solution will be looking at the interests of Sevilla and also looking at the interests of the player". It may actually cost the team its defensive stability, not enhance it.

Steven N'Zonzi has been linked to Everton. He would be an improvement on the Swiss international, primarily because of his greater mobility and range.
