Finally, he lashed out at Fox News and commentator Stacy Dash for covering his Instagram post, which was interpreted by many to be inflammatory and anti-Oprah in nature.

"When you have been part of the problem for decades but suddenly they all think you are the solution", he said in a pair of Instagram captions Wednesday alongside two photos of Winfrey with Weinstein.

Oprah Winfrey's January 2018 acceptance speech for the Golden Globes' Cecil B. deMille Award may have inspired calls for the entertainment mogul to run for president in 2020, but it also came with attempts to smear her character, which were usually baseless and almost always in meme form.

British singer Seal scaled down his attack on Oprah Winfrey after claiming that the global celeb was aware of rumours surrounding Harvey Weinstein and did nothing.

"What I re-posted was not an attack on Oprah at all", he adds. "What I re-posted was commentary on the hypocritcal and double standard nature and behaviour of Hollywood".

Winfrey addressed the Weinstein sex scandal on her Facebook account late last year, writing: "I've been processing the accounts of Harvey Weinstein's hideous behavior (sic) and haven't been able to find the words to articulate the magnitude of the situation". He added, "I think she'll learn on the job the same way Bill Clinton learned - a former governor of Arkansas - or Barack Obama, a junior senator, learned on the job".

Oprah Winfrey brushed off accusations against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, saying "this is just how it is" for people who want to get ahead in the media industry.

"Stacy Dash, keep my name out of your mouth", he said. "You steal from the post office, you go to jail and hashtag real talk for a second - wall know what would happen to any one of those power abusers if they looked like me".

The picture of Oprah kissing Weinstein's cheek has been brought up as evidence that she had to have known.

He asked those coming forward to continue to do so, and had a message for everyone else.
