What Does Galaxy S8 Mean for Apple's Next iPhone Release?

(MSFT) have always been partners in the smartphone market with Samsung including Microsoft's Skype, OneDrive, OneNote and other applications on its smartphones and tablets but with the launch of the Galaxy S8, the two are taking it to a new level with Microsoft releasing a Microsoft Edition of the Galaxy S8. But, this means that the fingerprint sensor will not be on the front of the phone, but on the back, next to the camera. Koh said that since the company is preparing the supply without any issue, there will be no cause for Galaxy S8 delays.

Some might be disappointed about the camera on the Galaxy S8.

"The Galaxy S8 and S8 are smartphones without limits and deserve a one of a kind unlimited plan on a network customers can count on", said Suzy Hays, senior vice president of Consumer Markets for C Spire. Users will be able to unlock their device without scanning their finger or inputting a pin, although these options are still available.

As rumoured for months, the all-new Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will sport iris recognition, which was earlier seen on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 - which has been discontinued. Samsung is letting Microsoft include Cortana even though the Galaxy S8 includes the debut of Bixby, Samsung's voice-activated assistant that is created to take on Apple Inc.'s (AAPL) Siri and Amazon.com Inc.'s (AMZN) Alexa.

The dock can be used to mount the smartphone's display to a larger monitor via HDMI port, transforming your desktop experience completely.

The Verge says it "comes with an app drawer on the side, and supports Android apps with full access to notifications and resizable windows".

The curved-edge display fits "so comfortably into your hand", with Samsung taking a design that debuted on the Galaxy S6 Edge and perfecting it on the S8, resulting in the smartphone feeling "expertly sculpted" and "extremely manageable" to use.

With a starting price of $720 for the Galaxy S8 and $840 for the Galaxy S8 Plus, Samsung's new flagship phones certainly fall within the "premium" device category, a market space that's been dominated by Apple. And from my point of view it looks like a pretty sweet smartphone.

However, it "isn't as unwieldy as it could have been" and "is reasonably practical to wield one-handed", adds the website, although it feels the phone is "a step too far in terms of its size" compared to the 5.8ins Galaxy S8.

With details of the coming Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus generating lots of positive reviews for Samsung, it's possible sales for the new Android phones could be stronger than expected, "The Street" reported yesterday. However it will only read your fingerprint and you won't have to press it.

The S8 will be £689 and the Plus £779 (that's up from £569 and £639 on the S7).
