Atletico Madrid are believed to be interested in Jamie Vardy, according to sources at Sky Sports.

The 30-year-old forward was on target against Atletico in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final last month and, although Leicester went out 2-1 on aggregate, he reportedly made a positive impression on the Atletico management.

Reports out of the United Kingdom via The Sun, have linked Atletico Madrid with a Premier league search for their next striker.

"We're happy to compete in this tournament", said Simeone, "and to be invited along with Bayern and Liverpool, who we will surely meet in the Champions League next season". His performances en route to the unlikely triumph resulted in him being named the Football Writers' Association Player of the Year.

The Premier League stars would be hugely effective in Atleti's high pressing, cut-throat playing style, something Simeone wants to see further elevated upon their exciting move to the Estadio La Peineta.

The club failed to bring their winning momentum into this season, ultimately leading to the dismissal of their manager Claudio Ranieri.

Paris Saint-Germain's Edinson Cavani and Alvaro Morata are the two identified, but the pursuit of the latter will only become realistic if Real Madrid do make a move for Griezmann.

Simeone is reportedly also hoping to sign a fast striker to play alongside Antoine Griezmann.
