Nerlens Noel: Report: Noel will receive max offers as RFA?

When the Dallas Mavericks traded for 76ers big man Nerlens Noel in exchange for Justin Anderson, Andrew Bogut and a protected first-round pick, they knew Noel would be a free agent this summer. While midline deals will be higher than in year's past, new max contracts will be reaching higher payouts than they ever have in league history.

The free agent market for centers have been hard to calibrate as supply has outpaced demand, but Noel is young and a game changer on defense. If that's the case, Noel will be signing a deal in the neighborhood of $108,575,000 over four years. That athleticism also makes him a risky roller in the pick-and-roll and an effective off-ball cutter, as he can play above the rim and finish easy alley-oop baskets, similar to the role DeAndre Jordan plays in the Los Angeles Clippers offense.

In 51 games this season between the Sixers and Mavericks, Noel averaged 8.7 points on 59.5 percent shooting to go along with 5.8 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game. Being able to find a long-term home with a good basketball atmosphere with great coaching, such as Dallas, can only lead to good things for Noel for the next few years of his career.

When asked regarding the update of the team's negotiations with Noel, Mavericks team owner Mark Cuban remained mum, saying he's not allowed to talk about it. "So they're down there now and so that's exciting to see, and he's part of that group".
