The Kremlin says Russian President Vladimir Putin's first meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump will take place Friday in Germany. That's during president's Xi Jinping two-day visit to Moscow.

Jinping, whose plane landed in Moscow's Vnukovo airport on Monday, met Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov, Russian Ambassador to China Andrei Denisov and Chinese Ambassador to Russia Li Hui, reports TASS.

As for bilateral cooperation, Xi said that China-Russia cooperation in various fields, including energy, trade, investment, high technology, finance, infrastructure and agriculture, had been growing rapidly since he and Putin reached a consensus on aligning the Belt and Road Initiative with the Eurasian Economic Union.

"The Chinese president also said that his country attaches great importance to Trump's reaffirmation that the United States will adhere to the one-China policy" that rules out formal contacts with Taiwan, which China claims as its own territory, the Xinhua news agency reported.

Observers warned that if Washington fails to do damage control, ties between the countries may fray, as an arms deal breaches USA pledges in past official statements and betrays the one-China policy.

China's foreign ministry accused the U.S. of violating Chinese sovereignty and disrupting "peace, security and order of the relevant waters" after the U.S. Navy destroyer USS Stethem sailed Sunday within 12 nautical miles (22 kilometers) of tiny Triton island, which is claimed by China, Taiwan and Vietnam.

"He was OK with it", said Mr Trump. But North Korea on Tuesday launched what US and South Korean officials confirm was an intercontinental ballistic missile.

The United States and South Korea say the THAAD is exclusively aimed at defending the South from North Korea. Trump will then deliver a public speech before traveling to a G-20 summit in Germany.

- Prior to his departure for Europe, President Trump tweeted his disappointment with China for not doing enough to put pressure on North Korea about its nuclear program.

On Tuesday morning, North Korea confirmed its latest missile test.

Trump "sees potential benefits for the U.S.in this meeting", Duda said.

"Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to a denuclearised Korean Peninsula", it said.
