Addressing a high level "preparatory meeting for special economic zones", the federal minister said that the enemies of Pakistan want to prevent development in the country by earlier trying to create a rift between provinces and the federation and are now trying to sabotage the project.

Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is entering the new phase of industrial and economic zones.

He regretted that rumors are being spread among the business community about economic zones.

Nur Bekri, director of China's National Energy Administration, said at the inaugural ceremony that the completion of the Sahiwal power plant is another milestone for the China-Pakistan cooperation and that the plant will continuously inject driving power to Pakistan's economic development.

The Minister for Planning said that the mega project is not a charity but an opportunity. He said that creation of job is important for us because we need two million jobs every year.

HE also encouraged the local investors to start joint ventures with Chinese investors to boost the economic growth of the country.
