He said whenever there were allegations of corruption against any JD-U leader; his party had taken necessary action.

"After 4 days we will discuss it (Tejashwi Yadav) again", JDU l leader Ramai Ram was quoted as saying by ANI after the party meeting.

Hours after the JD (U) put the ball of Tejaswi Yadav's resignation in the RJD court and asked its president Lalu Prasad to decide about his continuance in the Nitish Cabinet within four days, the RJD virtually rejected the JD (U) diktat. A JD (U) legislator said: "The CM will himself seek his deputy's resignation if the latter does not resign by Friday". "I am firm on my resolve of zero tolerance against corruption", Nitish Kumar reportedly said at his official residence here.

The three-hour meeting chaired by Kumar, he said, was attended by about 300 party leaders and workers, including JD (U)'s district unit chiefs and heads of its various wings.

Lalu Prasad, who returned from Ranchi at 6.40 pm after appearing in a fodder scam case in Jharkhand, held confabulations with senior party leaders including Raghuvansh Prasad Singh and Jagdanand Singh. It was clear on Tuesday that Kumar does not want the grand alliance government to fall over the issue of Tejaswi's inevitable ouster from the cabinet.

Following Lalu's arrival in Patna, senior RJD leaders also went into a huddle, with the entire objective being how to continue in power in the state and also save the party's first family from further action by investigation agencies.

"Has Tejashwi Yadav indulged in any corruption in his departments?" His short tenure as deputy chief minister has been exemplary.

Prasad and Tejashwi should say how they amassed properties worth Rs 1,000 crore, including three acres of prime land in Patna and four companies of which Yadav is director and share-holder, he said. "We will not allow our opponents' game plan to succeed".

Sushil said that there was no need to give the ultimatum to Tejashwi Yadav to come clean on corruption charges as Kumar had acted against his ministers in the past merely on the basis of their names cropping up in connection with corruption charges.

"Party knows how to follow gatbandhan dharma.JD (U) has a record of facing political challenges by making political sacrifices", Neeraj Kumar said.

Kumars reference to coalition politics and sacrifices is also being seen in the context of JD (U) having walked out of the NDA in 2013, ending its 17-year association with BJP, after Narendra Modi was appointed its campaign committee chief for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

But the RJD stuck to its guns and ruled out resignation of Tejaswi. He also attacked Congress for backing the RJD chief and his family in the wake of the fresh CBI case against them.
