The Seahawks say rookie defensive lineman Malik McDowell is recovering from a "vehicular accident" that occurred within the last few weeks and is resting at home MI.

The Seahawks announced on Sunday that defensive tackle Malik McDowell was injured in a "vehicular accident" a couple of weeks ago and that he has not joined the team at training camp so he can continue receiving treatment from doctors in MI.

The team confirmed McDowell had been involved in an accident and had remained under the care of doctors in MI. NFL Network reported that McDowell suffered facial injuries and a concussion. Our medical people have been in constant communication with his physicians, and they have been monitoring the situation. McDowell has not been active on Twitter since July 18. At this point it is important for Malik to stay at home and rest. "I don't know that". McDowell was placed on the reserve/did not report list. "We look forward to Malik's return to Seattle sand will update you with any changes". So everything's above board and cleared - what we're doing.

McDowell left Michigan State a year early following the 2016 season, and was selected in the second round by the Seahawks.

"Instantly, almost, you can see how comfortable he is with his movements, his body control", Carroll said in May, according to the Tacoma News-Tribune. "It's been a little while since the accident happened, but we're still waiting to figure all that out".
