Second-seeded Kiki Bertens beat her doubles partner in the Gstaad Ladies Championship quarterfinals on Friday.

Kontaveit broke to start, and claimed the first two games - which both went to deuce - to set the tone for the match.

The Czech world No.140 dropped the first set before prevailing 3-6 6-1 7-5 over German qualifier Antonia Lottner.

"It's incredible for me, really, because it was such a tough match", Martincova said. "I wasn't as nervous this time, but come on, she's still top 20". "[Another semifinal] really great, I've been having good results recently and it's definitely building up my confidence, and I'm feeling good on court".

No.3-seeded Anett Kontaveit improved to 15-5 on clay in 2017 with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Germany's Carina Witthoeft.

The Estonian's comfortable 6-2 6-4 was in stark contrast to the three-set battle her next opponent Tereza Martincova survived on Friday.
