After spending the duration of last season on loan at Torino, it's still unclear where Hart will end up in time for the start of 2017/18.

Work began for the Manchester City first team on Monday, as the players returned to the CFA for the first training session of the new preseason.

A number of reports in the English press this afternoon have claimed that West Ham United are eyeing a move for English international goalkeeper Joe Hart.

West Ham have made only one signing this summer, with defender Pablo Zabaleta joining on a free transfer following his release from City.

The Spaniard had been watching Hart secretly in the knowledge that he would become City boss, and deemed the 30-year-old not good enough with the ball at his feet and subsequently purchased Claudio Bravo from Barcelona, who flopped in his debut season.

Joe Hart will not be part of Manchester City's tour of America this summer, despite Pep Guardiola's shortage of available goalkeepers as the Blues begin pre-season.

It is understood that Manchester City could be willing to subsidise all of Hart's 110k-a-week wages for him to join West Ham, with The Hammers keen on an option to buy England's number one next summer on a permanent basis.
