West Brom contemplating move for FC Barcelona man

West Bromwich Albion are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona centre-back Thomas Vermaelen this summer.

Pulis has already bolstered his Baggies back line this summer, with the loan signing of Egyptian Ahmed Hegazy, who featured in yesterday's defeat at Bristol Rovers.

Slaven Bilic should continue his brilliant work in the transfer window with West Ham by luring Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen to the London Stadium this summer.

The Belgium worldwide left Arsenal for the Nou Camp in 2014 but has been plagued with injury problems, making just 20 league appearances across the past three seasons as he spent the 2016-17 campaign with Serie A side Roma.

West Brom - as well as Crystal Palace - are believed to be considering moves for Vermaelen, and the Baggies may well be hoping that reuniting with Nacer Chadli can help them win the race and give the centre back a return to England.

Vermaelen, 31, emerged in the ranks with Ajax, racking up over 130 appearances before heading to Arsenal in 2009, where he scored 15 times in 150 games as he struggled with injuries.

But reports this weekend are suggesting he will now look to sign Vermaelen from Spanish La Liga giants Barca.
